A visit to the village of Suvanto – perhaps the most famous village in Lapland and Visitor Centre Naava’s exhibition about natural and cultural history of the Pyhä-Luosto area. Suvanto village is only village what survived from the Lapland war 1944.

The village of Suvanto has been classified as a nationally significant cultural environment. In the village, some of the log buildings built before the wars have been preserved. Most of the residential buildings are from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The oldest is Hiltusen's main building built in the 18th century.

In 1991 Suvanto earned the Europa Nostra award for the efforts in preserving the culture and architecture of the area and it used to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. Additionally, Suvanto was awarded as the most beautiful village in Lapland in 1987.

When you do not need a pick up, meet us Kairankutsu Office Pyhätunturi, Kultakeronkatu 4, 98530 Pyhätunturi. Our office right next to the grocery shop K-Market Pyhäntähti. Arrive to the meeting point by the scheduled time of the experience.
