Experience traditional ice fishing in the peaceful surroundings of the Arctic wilderness on this guided safari to a private lake, located approximately 30 minutes from Rovaniemi. After a comfortable transfer by minibus, you continue on foot and arrive at a secluded frozen lake, away from crowds and public fishing spots. Surrounded by silent forests and pristine nature, this is the perfect place to discover one of Lapland’s most authentic winter traditions.
Your guide will explain the basics of ice fishing, help you drill holes in the ice and show you how to use the fishing equipment. While waiting for a bite, you can enjoy the calm atmosphere, take a short snowshoe hike, or warm up by the fire with hot drinks, snacks and stories about life in the Arctic. No previous fishing experience is needed – this safari is about slowing down, enjoying nature and trying something truly local.
